H.E. Ratna Vajra Rinpoche audio interview

Posted on Wednesday, August 19th, 2009 at 10:27 am

I have just posted an interesting interview with His Eminence Dungsei Ratna Vajra Rinpoche of the Sakya Tradition, one of the four main schools of Tibetan Buddhism. His Eminence is the eldest son of His Holiness the Sakya Trizin and one of the most important lineage holders in the Sakya Tradition.

In this interview H.E. Ratna Vajra Rinpoche talks about different attitudes towards spiritual teachers and the concept of 'guru' in the traditional Buddhist countries and the newer Western Buddhist students. He talks about such topics as the impact of different cultural influences around the world; the necessary processes and qualifications for teachers of Vajrayana centres; and how he experiences the Western emphasis on individual rights and intellectual questioning of Buddha Dharma.

Listen to the interview.
