They are both committed to supporting the spiritual dimension of health and wellbeing, as well as raising awareness of holistic and integrative medicine. As well as this, IHS sponsors and supports the public talks and workshops that Ian hosts around Australia. While Ian and Ruth have both worked at The Gawler Foundation (Ian retired in 2010 while Ruth continues to be employed there as a therapist), the Gawler Foundation is a separate not-for-profit charity that manages the residential and non-residential programs related to healing and wellbeing based on the principles that Ian and other staff members evolved.
